For this photoshoot, I decided to focus on the word ‘Isolated’. This was the first word I thought of when I was thinking about Cacti, as cacti often stand alone in open spaces and therefore stand out and look isolated from their surroundings. I chose this concept because it inspired me most out of all and I liked the idea of taking photos of things that stand out from the rest of their surroundings to mirror the isolation of cacti. I decided to take photos of singular objects placed or found naturally in a public place to highlight the isolated theme I wanted to carry throughout. I also decided to experiment with making my photos all black and white to contrast Andy Ellis' work, however I have decided to keep the main focus of the photograph (The most stand out or most isolated part) in colour to make it stand out even more and highlight the isolation and link to Andy's work by contrasting the theme with colour. I decided to do this with all my photographs so that they would all have a similar composition and so that there would be a strong link between the photographs.
