These photographs are my final images that are inspired by Andy Ellis’ project Remembering Obachan. They show an old man living and doing his daily activities alone in an isolated environment away from everyone else and how he does things alone and isolated. I tried to dim the vibrancy of the images to mirror his work and to show the similarities between the photographs. This was because I wanted to highlight the grey parts of the skin and surroundings in the photographs to highlight age and the atmosphere of the man being alone and isolated as so to highlight my theme for these photographs of isolation and the feelings that come with being isolated. I wanted to portray to the viewers how doing everyday activities alone by showing images where the person is in surroundings that show that the man was surrounded by others and how his life has progressed so I used a framed photographed wall as the background for my main photos and  tried to incorporate other photographs of family in the other photos without making it obvious so that they would feel the subtle hint of the loneliness and isolation that the man is feeling to make them empathise with him. I decided to portray my final images grey and lifeless to make the viewer imagine the difference between how his life used to be full of colour and now how it could have changed and ‘turned to grey’ as the people in his life have left him. This was so to create emotion and sympathy in the viewers of the image.
